THE Lancashire Environmental Fund is only the fourth such group in the UK to receive a top award from a regulator.
The fund has won EB Certification from Entrust, the regulators of the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme.
The certification acknowledges a high standard of professionalism, consistency and accountability. Minister for Rural Affairs, Landscape and Bio-diversity, Jim Knight, who presented the certification, congratulated the fund on "a great achievement".
The fund has supported more than 450 community and environmental projects in the county since it started in 1998.
Andy Rowett, fund manager, said: "We have worked hard for this and are delighted that the fund is only the fourth in the UK to reach such a high standard of operation."
