Lancashire will lead the way next week as it unveils a new approach to local policing.
The Neighbourhood Policing Programme is a key part of the Government's police reform agenda and while every police force in the country will implement it, Lancashire will be the first to introduce it to every area of the force.
Acting assistant chief constable Mike Cunningham said: "The neighbourhood policing teams are dedicated to getting things done in their area, are visible and easy to contact by phone, local meetings, or though the internet.
"There will also continue to be a monthly PACT meeting in every neighbourhood where people have the opportunity to come and tell their local team concerns."
