India 2 U is one of the latest additions to the local scene and it has clearly set its stall out to be stylish as well as offering a wide range of interesting dishes.
The large open kitchen gives you a chance to watch the chefs prepare your food to order - and also to get a mouthwatering range of flavours while you wait.
The menu offers a wide range of dishes, all with helpful explanations and a guide to how hot they are.
On the advice of the manager I went for the chicken tikka pathia with pilau rice and a chicken tikka balti with chappatis which came to a total of £11.90.
I was offered a coffee while I waited, which is always a nice touch, and sat back to take in the aromas as the chefs did their stuff.
Back at home I was looking forward to seeing if the dishes would be as good as they had promised to be.
I have got to admit that for my wimpy constitution, the balti was on the hot side but there was no denying the quality of it with fresh vegetables mixing in a thick sauce with tender pieces of chicken.
The pathia was even hotter but the better half is made of sterner stuff and she loved every morsel of it.
It is always pleasing to report that there is another welcome addition to the takeaway scene offering quality food and although it may be in its infancy, India 2 U has certainly started off on the right foot.
