YOU'RE next' is the message to Burnley's criminal underworld after police raided more than 30 homes of suspected criminals over the last month.
The crackdown is part of Operation Frustrate, the police's offensive against suspected drug dealers, burglars and louts causing anti-social behaviour.
In the last month of the operation, police have carried out more than 30 warrants, arrested around 40 people and seized drugs and weapons.
The warning to criminals from police follows the execution of warrants in the area, including one on Branch Road on Monday which resulted in a 29-year-old woman being charged for possession of a class A drug.
Other warrants were carried out on January 20 in Rosehill Road, where cannabis bush and cannabis growing equipment were seized and warrants on January 17 at Rosetti Avenue, where cannabis was seized, and Creswick Avenue.
Insp Damien Darcy said the raids were aimed at disrupting criminal activity and making neighbourhoods across the town safer.
He said: "This is all about causing chaos in the criminal world and keeping these people on the back foot. We have been carrying out warrants and going back to the same addresses to check on them.
"The message should go out to people engaged in drug dealing and anti-social behaviour that they are next on the list and we are coming for them.
"Landlords also need to be aware of who they have in their properties because if we break a door down and find evidence of criminal activity then we will not pay for the damage."
The crackdown which involves armed police comes on the back of a series of drug busts in November when 21 people were arrested.
Offenders in the Trinity area have also been feeling the heat of Operation Hot Spot over the past week with drugs warrants executed at Hargher Street, Piccadilly Road and Grange Street resulting in two men and one woman being arrested for possession of drugs. Investigations are ongoing.
