Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt has been urged to veto any closure of Burnley General Hospital's casualty depart-ment.
Pendle MP Gordon Prentice told the Cabinet Minister to listen to the public opposition to proposals to downgrade or shut the A&E unit, which serves his constituency.
