LANCASHIRE'S young heroes will be announced at a ceremony this week.
The High Sheriff of Lancashire will reward Top Young Citizen awards to those who deserve recognition for their efforts in the community.
Acting Chief Constable Steve Finnigan will join the former England footballer and High Sheriff, Jimmy Armfield, at the ceremony at Lancashire Constabulary Headquarters tomorrow.
The Lancashire Partnership against Crime event is sponsored by the National Grid.
Dozens of nominations were received from across the county.
, who will all attend the ceremony where the winners will be presented with a prize and a certificate.
Mr Armfield said: "This year there have been a number of high quality candidates and it has certainly been an extremely tough decision.
"A competition like this demonstrates just how many special young citizens we have living here in Lancashire and I congratulate all entrants."
