A DARWEN church which recently modernised its seating to attract youngsters will be looking back to older, more traditional ways as it celebrates its 175-year history.
The Rev Andrew Holliday, vicar at St Peter's Church, has come up with ideas such as replacing pews with bean bags and holding various fundraising events to ensure the church has a positive future.
But this year he will be encouraging his parishioners to dig out their old photographs and memories to mark the church's anniversary.
He is also hoping to arrange the creation of a new stained-glass window at the church which will celebrate not only the 175th anniversary, but also the history of the town and community of Darwen.
The planning of the window has been taken on by The Projects Group, which was a committee set up to plan improvements and raise funds for essential maintenance work.
