Detectives hunting a sex attacker have renewed an appeal for witnesses.
The woman, 56, was pushed over a wall and pounced upon by a hooded man as she headed to work in Ormerod Street, near the Globe Centre, at 7am on Tuesday.
A passer-by disturbed the attack and, according the police, saved the woman from a more serious sex assault. Anyone with information is asked to call Accrington CID on 01254 353741.
