A pensioner died four days after suffering a fall at her home, an inquest was told.
Lilian Snape of Queen's Close, died last Tuesday, aged 78.
Coroner's clerk John Schofield told an inquest she was admitted to Blackburn Royal Infirmary on January 13 after falling at home and fracturing her left thigh bone.
He added: "She was not fit enough to undergo surgery, her condition deteriorated and she passed away."
A post mortem examination concluded her death had been caused as a result of multi-organ failure, heart disease and a fractured femur and the inquest was adjourned until April 4.
