RESIDENTS in Burnley held a meeting to oppose plans for new mobile phone masts.
The event, organised by pressure group Together Against Masts, saw dozens turn up at the Central Methodist Church to oppose the building of new masts.
Phone companies have submitted applications to put up around 50 masts in the borough.
Burnley MP Kitty Ussher attended the meeting and vowed to help residents in their fight.
The meeting was told new legislation currently going through parliament could support residents' opposition.
Conservative back-bencher David Currie has submitted the Tele-Communications Mast (Planning Control) bill which will be debated in the Commons.
