A teenager had to undergo surgery on a broken leg after she was hit by a car on one of the major routes out of Burnley.
The 13-year-old girl was running across Westgate near to the Little Chef roundabout when she was hit by a blue Nissan Primera.
The youngster was taken to Burnley General and underwent surgery on a compound fracture to her left tibia.
The accident happened just after 5pm on Thursday.
