DARWEN residents are being given an opportunity to view artists' impressions of how the old Belgrave Mill site will look once it is transformed into housing.
Plans showing the layout of the future development, which was given final approval last month, are currently on display in the foyer of Darwen Town Hall.
They show the location of the various housing which will be available, and the tiered effect in which the homes will be built.
It also shows how Wraith Street, which runs up the side of the mill, will be diverted to run through the new estate and that traffic lights will be installed at the new junction.
Developers McInerney Homes plan to build 127 homes on the site of the former Crown Wallcoverings mill.
These will include 73 apartments built in nine blocks, 50 terrace and mainly three-storey, homes, and four semi-detached houses.
Work has already begun on preparing the mill for demolition as part of the £30million scheme and specialist demolition contractors are expected to start knocking down the huge factory in the spring.
It is hoped that by Christmas 2006 the mill will have made way for a modern housing development.
