A TEENAGER from Colne has swapped pulling pints for fighting crime.
Sean Goddard's new job is a world away from his previous employment as a team manager at the Ram Inn, Cliviger.
The 19-year-old wanted a varied career and is now a Police Community Support Officer.
He is enjoying patrolling his beat on the Coates estate, Barnoldswick, and hopes to rise through the ranks.
He said: "I worked at the Ram Inn for 18 months and did a bit of everything.
"I've always fancied joining the police and this is the first step for me. I love it. I like getting out there and meeting different people every day, and having the chance to do something different every day, rather than doing the same thing."
A keen snooker player, Sean hopes to be potting criminals in a bid to help the community, alongside fellow neighbourhood policing officers.
He said: "I wanted to become a Police Community Support Officer because I want to make a difference to the local community.
"I want to be a friendly face out on the beat someone that both young and old feel comfortable approaching.
"I am looking forward to developing my policing career and to meeting the people in my neighbourhood policing area.
"Hopefully, I will be able to make a difference to their lives by working with them, and other agencies, to tackle local concerns."
The former Nelson and Colne College student is a keen footballer and Manchester United fan.
