BLACKBURN cake producer Inter Link Foods was today celebrating record profits and sales.
The firm released its interim results for the six months to November 5, 2005 which showed the business is booming and the future looks rosy.
The half-yearly results show turnover is up 51 per cent on the same period last year from £44.2m to £67.2m.
Pre-tax profits were £2.62m, up by 26.2 per cent to £2.08m.
And shareholders are benefiting too, seeing their shares rise in value from 20.1p to 24p.
The firm said the growth in business has been helped by buying out rivals the Yorkshire Cottage company as well as CMJ in Poland.
And its Soreen brand has grown to become Britain's fourth largest cake brand.
The firm has also renewed a lucrative contract with Disney, which allows it to produce cakes portraying Disney characters.
On top of that, the cake sector is said to be growing along with Interlink's share of the market.
