A BARROWFORD couple will find out on Monday if their dream of setting up a business in Pendle will become reality.
Mark and Nicola Nuttall, of Park Street, have applied to Pendle Council for permission to create an indoor children's adventure play area with cafe in an industrial unit in Turner Road on the Lomeshaye industrial estate.
Councillors were worried about the loss of industrial space but following further negotiations, the plans have been recommended for approval by planning officer Stan Healey. The couple plan to invest £200,000 in the project and claim it will create 20 jobs.
In a statement to officers, Mr and Mrs Nuttall said they had examined six other possible sites in the past 15 months which were unsuitable. They said they needed a building tall enough for the play equipment and with car parking for families.
As well as a play area for under-12s the centre will have a cafe, party rooms and a sensory room for disabled children.
Mr Healey has told councillors they could grant the couple permission for the plans without setting a precedent and there had not been much interest in the site they wanted to use.
Nelson Committee will decide the application at Nelson Town Hall on Monday at 7pm.
