TWO men had front teeth knocked out after being set upon by a gang of teenagers who laughed as they carried out the unprovoked attack.
The victims, aged 43 and 50, were walking home from Blackburn town centre along Cicely Lane when they were approached by the 16 to 18-year-old boys.
Police said one of the teenagers grabbed a baseball cap off the 43-year-old man, and refused to give it him back.
The men said they did not want any trouble and tried to walk away.
But, police added, the teenagers then demanded money.
When the men told them they had none, the teenagers launched the attack.
The 43-year-old man was karate kicked in the face, knocking out a front tooth, prompting the gang to laugh.
The 50-year-old also had a tooth knocked out as he was grabbed from behind and punched in the face.
As both men lay on the ground, several members of the gang set about the men with punches and kicks.
Anyone with information about the attack, at 8.30pm on Friday, is asked to call Blackburn police on 01254 51212 and ask for PC Zoe Russo.
