Morten Gamst Pedersen, who damaged his hamstring in the act of scoring the winner against Arsenal, will have a scan today to access the full extent of the damage.
But his manager Mark Hughes fears he could be missing for three weeks.
"A hamstring injury is usually a minimum of two weeks if you are lucky but, once we know the extent of it, it's more likely to be three," added the Rovers boss.
"Losing Morten was the one negative on the day. It's unfortunate but he scored his goal and made his mark and we'll try and get him back as soon as we can."
