BURNLEY FC were playing away from home but there was still a very important fixture at Turf Moor on Saturday as Jenny and Norman White tied the knot.
The happy couple, from Burnley, who have been together for 35 years, exchanged their wedding vows in the James Hargreaves Suite and became the first to be married at the club after it was granted a licence to hold civil weddings.
Jenny and Norman have been Clarets fans for the last 13 years.
And even though they missed the Championship side's match in Coventry, 54-year-old Jenny still supported her team on her big day.
The special needs assistant wore a cream winter wedding dress with a claret colour running through the embroidery. She also wore a claret and blue garter, carried claret flowers and wore claret jewellery.
And Norman wore a blue suit with a pin stripe, a gold waistcoat and a claret cravat.
The 58-year-old sales manager of Stirling Court, Brierfield, said his wife looked "absolutely stunning".
"It was a fantastic day, really brilliant. Everything went to plan from the word go and the whole ceremony was lovely. And it was great to get our pictures taken on the hallowed turf"
Burnley FC received its civil wedding licence last December. Jenny and Norman's wedding was the first ceremony to be held at the club but another couple will still be able to claim a first by getting married in the dressing room.
