CRAIG Bellamy reckons Blackburn Rovers are now equipped to mount a charge for the Champions League following Saturday's stunning victory over Arsenal at Ewood Park.

Rovers jumped up to fifth position in the Premier League table - and three points behind Spurs who are fourth - thanks to Morten Gamst Pedersen's 18th minute winner.

With Spurs now lying in wait at White Hart Lane on Sunday, Rovers can go level on pointswith the Londoners if they pull off another win in the capital.

And Bellamy believes his team-mates have the belief to secure a top four finish after coming into form at the right time in the season.

The Rovers striker, who produced a magnificent piece of skill to set up Pedersen's winner at the weekend, said: "We've just got to try and take every game as it comes.

"I remember when I was at Newcastle and in my first season we were looking at finishing in the top six.

"But then around about this time we said Hang on a minute. We could still finish in the Champions League yet' and we pushed on from there and finished in a Champions League spot.

"I think we'd gone from finishing 13th or 14th in the Premiership the season before to finishing fourth, and hopefully that will be the case again this time."

Bellamy was simply outstanding as Rovers defeated the Gunners, who four days earlier had beaten Real Madrid 1-0 in the Bernabeu.

"We all watched that game against Real Madrid and thought God help the team who has them on Saturday' and then we realised it was us," said the Rovers striker.

"But, at the end of the day, we didn't let them play, we got right in their faces, we made it really awkward for them, and then when we got on the ball we had to be a threat, and that's exactly what we did."
