A Blackpool gym is backing a Blackpool athlete in her bid for Commonwealth Games glory.
Bannatynes Health Club of Rigby Road has given wheelchair racer, Shelly Woods, a complimentary membership ahead of her 2006 season of track and road races, which begins with next month's games in Melbourne.
Bannatyne's general manager, Les Ellarby-Blunt, said: "Shelly had a fantastic 2005, winning a number of races and finishing third in the New York Marathon and the 5,000m at the European Championships in Finland.
"She is obviously an exceptionally gifted athlete and Bannatyne's are proud to be supporting her as she enters the 2006 racing season."
Shelly said: "I would like to thank Bannatyne's Health Club Blackpool for supporting me with the use of their facilities."
