Wrexham Reserves 0 Burnley Reserves 2: Steve Davis celebrated his first win as Burnley reserve team boss after headers from Nicky Platt and Rob Turner saw off Wrexham.
Skipper Platt gave Burnley the crucial advantage before the break at the windswept home of non-league Buckley Town.
And a piece of wing-wizardry from American Danny Karbassiyoon teed up Turner for the clincher ten minutes from time.
Davis admitted: "It is a bit of a relief to get that first win under the belt, but more importantly it was a fully deserved win.
"In the first half we kept the ball really well and, while Wrexham came back after the break with some pressure, we handled that extremely well to keep a clean sheet."
Davis added: "I was especially delighted with the young lads because for quite a few of them was their fourth game in a week.
"But John McGreal, Danny (Karbassiyoon) and Duane Courtney gave us some valuable experience in there too and it was a good night all round."
