A WOMAN with memory problems has gone missing from her Burnley home after failing to return from a shopping trip.

Police today said they were concerned for Bernadette King who has been missing for nearly two weeks.

The 44-year-old of Eliza Street, visited Burnley centre on February 9.

Miss King suffers from short-term memory problems and has been missing before but this is the longest she had been away for, police said.

Insp Victoria Haworth appealed for anyone who may have seen Miss King or knew where she was to contact the police.

She said: "Both ourselves and her family are now concerned for her welfare. We are keen to find her safe and well and return her home.

"If anyone has any information about Bernadette then we would very much like to hear from them."

Miss King is described as being of large build, 5ft 5ins with straight, dark brown hair.

She was wearing a red, hooded waterproof jacket, black ankle-length skirt, a body warmer and dark coloured cowboy boots when she disappeared. She was also carrying a black shoulder bag.
