ALMOST 100 hopefuls turned up for the chance of jobs created by the firm which rescued the Time computer brand from the ashes.
Several of the firms based at the Time Technology Park, Simonstone, teamed up for a recruitment day at the weekend to fill 50 telesales positions. And there could be more recruitment days to come in the next few months, organisers said today.
Time Technology Park is the former home of Time Computers, which went into administration last July amid spiralling debts.
Last month it was revealed assets at one of the firms operating from the park, VMT, had been bought by a new company, along with the rights to use the Time brand.
The firm Time UK Factory Ltd is to make computers on the site again, and joined with firms including Total Care and Support Ltd and Supanet Ltd to recruit staff.
Brian Trevaskiss, marketing director at Total Care and Support, said: "We were really pleased with how the day went. We had some very good quality candidates and we will now be deciding who to invite back for a more formal second interview.
"Although all the jobs on offer at this recruitment day were for telesales positions we are hoping to hold some more events in the coming months for other positions."
When the original Time went into administration a number of workers complained they had been badly treated and only found out what was really happening at the firm through the local newspapers.
