Blackburn Hawks are just 60 minutes away from their first ever league title.
The East Lancashire ice hockey gloryhunters confront the biggest game in the club's history at Billingham Bombers tomorrow night.
It is a case of 'winner takes all' when the two giants of the English National League meet in a gripping, nerve jangling last game head-to-head.
With just two points separating the sides, Hawks must put their recent dip in form behind them - they have won only once in their last five outings -- to clinch the win that will secure the title. Defeat will hand the crown to Billingham who have a fantastic recent record of six straight wins!
"With the quality we have in our squad we are more than capable of beating Billingham - we have done it before and we can do it again," says Graham Lomax, the Hawks' assistant manager.
"It is purely down to us now. We need to put the last couple of games behind us and concentrate on the task in hand. There is a lot of pressure on us all, but we have enough ability to see it out.
"There has been plenty of interest from the supporters, so it looks like we could be taking a lot of fans up with us.
"It is important that the whole team performs. We have been relying on Bob (Haig) a lot this season so we need everyone to put in the same effort. If everyone gives 100 per cent then there should not be a problem.
"The first ten minutes will be crucial. Last week we were three-goals down inside the opening 10 minutes and we never really recovered."
Before Hawks take on Billingham, they face the challenge of Paisley Pirates, who arrive at the Arena tonight for a Northern Crossover Cup fixture (face-off 6pm).
"It's difficult to decide what kind of a side to put out tonight. We obviously want to rest a few players so they are fresh for tomorrow night, but we don't want to lose the game by putting out a weaker team."
