Burnley players were today beginning another blank weekend due to scheduled opponents Southampton still being involved in this year's FA Cup.
And winger Wade Elliott hopes the 11-day break following last Tuesday's home defeat to Wolves will recharge the batteries ahead of a first trip to Coventry City's brand new Ricoh Arena next weekend.
He said: "Having a break is a good and bad thing really.
"If we had beaten Wolves it would have been nice to have a little break and go into it in good spirits, but coming off the back of a bad result you want to get your teeth straight back into it and rectify it.
"But its not to be and, as things are at the moment we are down to 16 players, so I'm sure it won't do us any harm to step back, have a good week of training and then hopefully come into the Coventry game really fresh."
