A LOT is said about wheelie bins not being big enough. If householders use them properly they would hold much more. The first rule is to recycle into the containers provided.
Always use a wheelie liner, but put a bit of tape at each corner to stop the liner being pulled in.
When putting bags of rubbish in do not tie or knot the bag drop the bags on the side and flatten with a sweeping brush.
This will fill all the corners and compact them with as many as nine bags or more. Liners cost £1 for eight and the tape is also £1.
When bins are to be emptied, pull the tapes off and the bin will remain clean.
