Torrential rain saw the Bolton Mountain rescue team brought into action at the Winter Hill Fell Race on Sunday as many runners lost their way due to poor visibility.
Many of the runners withdrew from the 11-mile race while others had to seek directions to get back on course.
The first Chorley Harrier home was Mark Ellithorn who came home in just under two hours. At one stage Dominic Raby was in tenth place but he lost his way and ended two miles off course.
He still clawed back several places to finish 25th in two hours four minutes just behind.
The ladies were rewarded with taking the ladies' team prize.
Chorley Harriers Juniors brothers Nathan and Josh continued their improvement in the cross-country meet at Keswick last weekend. Nathan finished 30th in the under 11 boys and Josh was 14th in the Under 15 boys along while Mark Yates came home in 25th place.
Katy Fisher was 16th under 11 girls and sister Lucy 17th in the under 13 girls. Competing in the under 15 girls, Charlotte Bleasdale was 21st.
Newly weds Anton and Sarah Krige were first home for the Harriers in their respective class in Saturday's Parbold Hill Race on a very muddy course.
Anton was 78th in 49.44 and Sarah 124th in 51.17. Recent new recruit Dave Williams tackled the course for the first time and was delighted to finish in 51 minutes. Graham Schofield 57.47 and Eddie Pugh 62.26.
