Last Thursday evening I was exposed to a really revolting spectacle in Chorley and guess what? I thoroughly enjoyed it - all three hours of it!
Of course, I am referring to Holy Cross RC High School's recent triumphant production of Les Miserables.
The captivated audience were transported by the young cast and crew on a roller coaster of a musical journey, through the highs and lows of 19th century revolutionary France.
It was packed full of romance, idealism, crime, persecution, comedy and betrayal - featuring countless deaths, a wedding and a splendid barricade! All the stars of the show, both on and off stage, were magnificent!
Credit too must go to the dedicated school staff and supporting musicians, along with the lively guest producer, Cath Ellis, and the inspirational and tireless musical director Dorothy Bowling.
So a big thanks to Holy Cross, I was definitely less miserable that night!
