AN event to celebrate Ramsbottom's history is planned for next month to help raise the profile of the town's heritage society.
Ramsbottom Heritage Society is hoping to boost interest, and membership, at a Heritage Day, including a Ghosts of the Grants' talk by Andrew Todd to mark the Grants Arms' 200th anniversary.
Excerpts from the new film Ramsbottom's Heritage' will be shown, before a Ghosts of the Grants' walk, led by Pamela Parkinson, John Taylor, and Andrew Todd.
The North West Archive will be recording oral histories and displays, including historic and aerial photographs, and interactive displays. Conservation work will also be on show.
Janet Smith, of Ramsbottom Heritage Society, said: "Ramsbottom Heritage Society is well respected, and there is a lot of expertise among members in areas such as conservation and research."
Ramsbottom Heritage Day is on March 5 at the Civic Hall, Market Place, from 1pm to 5pm. Admission is free. For more information call 01706 827245, or visit www.ramsbottomherita ge.co.uk
