A MAN who missing in Spain has been found battered and bruised in Malaga. Blackburn man Stuart Dalziel sparked a major search when he went missing during a trip to the country last month.

But it was called off when the 41-year-old appeared at the foreign office in the city.

But Mr Dalziel is believed to be without any money or passport.

Speaking from her home in Glasgow, his mother Moira, 65, said today: "I've spoken to him and from what I can gather he has a broken arm and bruises.

"He seems really disoriented and didn't know much.

"We've heard he was mugged and beaten and had his passport and all his money stolen. He's been roaming the streets for two weeks trying to get help."

Mr Dalziel spent Monday night in a hospital in Malaga and was due to fly into Blackpool airport later today .

The father-of-three, of Whitehaven Close, Blackburn went missing on January 27. He was on a day trip with son Mark and two friends.

Mr Dalziel told them he intended to travel home later that day.

Mrs Dalziel said she was over the moon to hear he was coming home and she and her husband George were catching the train to Blackburn today to meet him.

She added: "His ex-partner phoned me and I honestly thought she was phoning with bad news.

"But when she told me I just said Oh my God' and started screaming. I'm really happy and I can't wait to get to Blackburn to see him. I can't wait to have my boy in my arms."

Detective Inspector Mark Rothwell, of Blackburn CID, said they would be looking to speak to Mr Dalziel to establish what exactly happened.

He said: "We're just pleased he's been found safe."
