IT'S great to see Blackburn still buzzing after last week's amazing victory over Manchester United. But that was a week ago now - time to get over it!
Am I the only one who's just a little bit worried that we follow up completing a double over the Red Devils for the first time in 75 years with a 2-0 defeat at West Brom?
I'm sure most Rovers fans probably don't care what happens between now and the end of the season given those wins over United.
But you can bet your life Mark Hughes does - and sweet that victory over his old club and mentor Sir Alex Ferguson was, he knows he has to swiftly forget it.
After all, it's just one result.
What happened at the Hawthorns was pretty inexplicable given the way Rovers tore United apart.
But then again the previous week they shipped four at West Ham and the defence wasn't exactly razor sharp on Saturday.
In fact Rovers still seemed to be sleeping off a hangover from the euphoria of the midweek win given the way the defence nodded off on both Albion goals. And all this worries me.
Because if we're talking about Blackburn as serious contenders for a top six place to get into Europe then they must do better.
It's all very well beating a big team twice but if you can't then follow it up against relegation fodder then the consistency needed to get into the top spots is sadly lacking.
This is a Baggies side which, let's not forget, lost at home to Sunderland recently so it's not as if they weren't there for the taking.
To compete at the top of the Premiership you have to turn it on against all teams and maybe Blackburn's failure to do that this term means they are destined for mid-table.
Don't get me wrong, even a top 10 finish suggests a significant improvement and means Hughes has done an amazing job in his first full season.
But something tells me an improved away performance at Everton this weekend is essential if those European dreams are to be kept alive.
