THERE is a great ongoing debate about the proposed plan for 50 more mobile phone masts to be built in Burnley.
This is despite Government reports saying that they cannot be entirely sure there is no risk to health.
Why then are we being subjected to masts being near homes?
If the Government has been paid by the Telecommunication Companies, and the landowners where they are sited have been paid, why shouldn't residents be compensated for their fears and concerns about possible serious health risks? Also for the possible devaluation of their homes?
There is now an application to place a 13.9m telecommunications pole on the rooftop of an industrial building adjoining houses in Manchester Road, Burnley. The minimum number of residents near the proposed mast site were asked officially to voice their fears and objections.
What criteria is there, if any, for the siting of these masts, especially if 50 are planned for Burnley?
Will they eventually be dotted all amongst our homes?
Doesn't this infringe our human rights?
The visual impact cannot be ignored either.
All the mill chimneys in the area were toppled as they were regarded as blots on the landscape, now potentially dangerous substitutes will take their place.
No thanks!
