A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital following a hit and run in Padiham today.
The biker was in Burnley Road when the driver of a car performed a U-turn knocking the Simonstone-bound rider off his machine.
The car driver continued towards Burnley following the incident which happened outside the HSBC bank at about 6.30am.
The motorcyclist was taken to Burnley General Hospital with a broken collar bone.
PC Neil Goodison of the road policing unit appealed for any witnesses to contact the police.
He said: "The car has done a U-turn in front of the motorcycle knocking him off the bike and has continued towards Burnley.
"He was taken to Burnley General Hospital with a broken collar bone.
"We are looking for a dark blue or black Renault Clio type vehicle."
