CLITHEROE have kicked off their re-building by making Paul Stansfield player-coach until the end of the season.

The midfielder, who has 11 goals this season, joins caretaker boss Mark Smitheringale on the staff following Tommy Lawson's sacking this week.

Chairman Carl Garner said: "This is a massive boost for the club. In my opinion Paul's one of the top three midfielders in the UniBond League so this is great news for us."

The Blues have brought Ryan Parr and Owen Roberts back to the club, from Fleetwood and Kendal respectively, as well as Chris Nestor, who has been on loan at Ramsbottom this season.

They are set to go into the squad for tomorrow's UniBond Division One trip to Shepshed Dynamo, alog with another loan striker the club was chasing ahead of the game.

Meanwhile, Lancashire rivals Bamber Bridge have put seven days notice in to talk to Simon Garner.
