It will be a case of 'from Runshaw with love' when beauty students offer treatment to raise money for Romanian orphans.
Runshaw College, Market Street, Chorley, is holding an open day on Wednesday, February 15, where the public can indulge themselves with a range of treatments for a donation.
The idea came from students working towards NVQs in hair and beauty. They wanted to help a former lecturer at the college Simon Parker, who moved to Romania in 2004.
After visiting Romania a couple of times to assist with relief work and educational development, Simon knew he just had to stay.
He left the comfort of life in Chorley for the £70 per month pay of a Romanian teacher.
He has worked in three Romanian high schools and is helping the country's education ministry with its teacher training programme.
More recently he has set up a project for street children and homeless orphans where his school provides a safe haven with food, shelter, facilities, and most importantly,s education.
Louise Bramwell, course leader at Runshaw, said: "The students have been following Simon's progress and were very keen to do something to help out.
"The hair and beauty salons will be open all day to do treatments, facials, waxing, brow shapes, manicures, makeovers, and massages.
"Our Euxton Lane site will also be offering holistic treatments, aromatherapy and massage."
The open day is on February 15, 10am-7pm. Clients can book in on 01257 427558 or at the Market Street college.
