A Broadway and West End musical hit from the creators of Friends is to begin its UK tour in Blackpool next month.

Gary Wilmot leads the cast of Personals The Musical, which debuts at the Grand Theatre on Friday, March 3.

Described as a madcap musical romp through the jungle of modern-day dating, the show is said to be packed with the wit and warmth you would expect from the creators of the long-running sitcom Friends, David Crane, Seth Friedman and Marta Kauffman, who wrote the lyrics.

The music is by some of Broadway's most successful composers, including Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Wicked), Alan Menken (Little Shop Of Horrors, Beauty & The Beast) alongside William Dreskin, Joel Phillip Friedman, Seth Friedman and Michael Skloff.

Alongside Wilmot, who has become one of the West End's leading musical stars having featured in hits such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang And Me and My Girl, will be Paul Baker, Nicola Dawn, Cassidy Janson, Gerard Bentall and Katy Secombe.

Personals runs from Friday March 3 to Saturday 11 with performances at 7.30pm Monday to Friday, Saturdays at 6pm and 8.30pm and a Wednesday matinee at 2.30pm.

The performance at 7.30pm on Friday March 10 will be sign language interpreted and the performance on Saturday will be audio described.

Tickets are available now, by calling the Grand Theatre box office on 01253 290190 or online at www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk. Tickets start at £13 (concessions and special offers available). For the opening night preview on Friday March 3, all seats are priced at £15.
