Chorley MP Lindsay Hoyle has backed a campaign to stop BBC Radio 4 dropping its UK Theme, used to mark the start of the day on the station.
It plans to fill the five-minute slot with a news bulletin instead.
Mr Hoyle has signed an early day motion in parliament calling on the station to carry on using the theme.
