Having watched the Richard Dawkins' television programmes I have noticed his choice of faith communities consulted was quite selective.
I would point out to him that without religion there would still have been Stalin's murder of thousands of Soviet citizens, still Pol Pot's terror and still Mao's Cultural Revolution. Without religion we would not have, Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa, the Salvation Army, International Aid nor that amazing example of goodness, the parents of Anthony Walker forgiving their son's murderer.
As an amateur botanist, I know that what is in the root is exhibited in the fruit.
Those of us in faith communities would agree that 'the fruit of the spirit is love, peace, goodness, patience and self control.'
Perhaps Prof Dawkins would not accept that last quote since it does come from the Bible.
