At first, all the bands emerging from the Libertines' urchin punk scene were lumped together. But now The Paddingtons have marked out their own territory with vicious, high-energy rock'n'roll and some fashionably high cheekbones. Catch them in Preston on February 14.
Often mistakenly described as a London band due to their closeness to Pete Doherty and co, The Paddingtons are actually from deepest, darkest Hull and are also staunchly against hard drugs.
They know how to party, though, with one particular gig in France attended by a bewildering list of celebs, including The Pet Shop Boys, Mick Jagger and Janet Street-Porter.
In October they released their spiky debut album, First Comes First, while they have also completed that other rite of passage for rock bands by becoming engaged in a war of words with Oasis loudmouth Liam Gallagher.
The Paddingtons play Preston's 53 Degrees on February 14.
