LANCASHIRE County Council is to push ahead with a £50,000 plan to improve safety on a Rossendale road.
The work on the A682 Burnley Road in Goodshaw had been opposed by residents.
It includes placing red raised speed markings to slow traffic, hatching marks in the centre of the road, parking bays and pavements build outs to prevent parking close to junctions.
Lancashire County Council statistics show there have been seven collisions, causing one fatality and seven casualties since 2000.
Objections included loss of parking but a report to Lancashire County Council's trans-port chief Tony Martins said much of the parkin being lost was covered by restrictions meant to make parking illegal.
