RE the article (LET, January 26) by Lauren Cumming, I really think I must put pen to paper as I am absolutely flabbergasted.
What is Hyndburn Council thinking of in wanting to demolish Peel Court care home in Oswaldtwistle to make way for 17 terrace homes?
Before Peel Court was constructed there stood a row of neat garden-fronted terrace cottages (an asset to Ossy).
A friend of my late mother resided in one of the cottages and all the row had just been updated and refurbished, with bathrooms and inside toilets, new windows etc., then after about 18 months the council decided to demolish these cottages to make way for Peel Court.
Now the council has decided to revert and build a row of terrace houses. What a waste of taxpayers' money.
It is an utter disgrace. No wonder Ossy and surrounding areas look tatty.
