BLACKBURN boss Mark Hughes insists his players will learn from their mistakes after Rovers' six-game Premiership unbeaten run came shuddering to a halt at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

First half goals from Kevin Campbell and Jonathan Greening condemned Rovers to their first league defeat of 2006.

But Hughes is backing his team to bounce back - and keep their European dreams on track - with a much-improved display against Everton at the weekend.

Speaking of his disappointment at Rovers' below par performance at The Hawthorns, Hughes said: "We'll look at the game again as we always do, win, lose or draw.

"We always review the events of the weekend and take pointers from it, we try to learn from our mistakes, and then we go again.

"You can't dwell too much on performances and defeats. You have to learn from them and move on, and that's what we will do.

"We've got a big game against Everton at the weekend and we've now got to focus our minds on that one."

Rovers could have gone sixth in the Premiership table on Saturday night had they beaten a West Brom side that is battling to beat the drop, but they found themselves on the back foot from the moment Campbell fired Albion into a sixth minute lead.

Greening then effectively wrapped up the points for the Baggies when he scored a second in the 32nd minute, and Rovers rarely looked like staging a fightback from that point onwards.

The result was a major setback for Hughes, who is hoping to lead the club back into Europe at the end of his first full season as a Premiership manager.

"We've had a great run at Premiership level," said the Rovers boss.

"We were the in-form side going into this game so that's the disappointment because we thought it was a real opportunity to get more points on the board.

"We weren't able to do that but we've got to put it behind us and go again.

"This is an important time in the season and we've got to hope that we can go on a similar run again."
