The promenade statue in memory of Morecambe's favourite son should be facing the sea instead of Marine Road.
So says local man Steve Kerensky - and he wants people to back a campaign to turn the landmark statue around.
Internet trader Steve says: "Think about it. When Morecambe and Wise ended their TV shows they didn't take a bow but turned their backs on the audience and did that strange little dance off stage.
"The Eric Morecambe statue, which I think is tremendous, is posed in the dance but faces the main part of the audience on Marine Road. He should have his back to them."
The Poulton resident goes on: "Anyway, Eric loved the view over Morecambe Bay and he should be facing it. He is missing all those beautiful sunsets.
"I have spoken to people at Lancashire County Council and to quite a number in the town and they all seem to agree.
"I haven't heard anyone say don't touch it - and if that is the case and the whole town thinks the same way then we should make it happen."
