WHAT an excellent idea to create a £70million 'Playground of the North' national centre for extreme sports in a former quarry site at Lee Mill and Greens Moor above Bacup and Stacksteads.
The whole of the area is a natural environment for those types of activities. At the moment, the land is used for only a few activities such as walking and trials biking, but with such a range of activities I am sure that it would attract people from not only all of the UK, but Europe as well.
It would be a whole new lease of life for the Rossendale Valley.
