GREENS are aiming to change the face of Lancaster City Council - from the inside.
The city's Green Party has launched a drive to find people to stand as candidates for election to the council in 2007.
"It is an opportunity to develop a huge range of skills, do something for your community, and be part of a vital world-wide movement for social and ecological justice," says Green group leader Cllr Chris Coates.
"The Green Party has a radical vision for transforming the local economy so that it meets the needs of people and the planet.
"We also want to protect local services, including health, education and com-munity facilities. We need more champions to get involved and make this a reality"
A meeting and supper is planned next Tuesday, January 31, for interested locals to meet the seven current Green councillors and find out more.
