MORECAMBE stand-in chief Sammy McIlroy could be about to let Keiran Walmsley go out on loan in order to get some games under his belt ahead of the promotion run-in.
The utility man has struggled to get into the Shrimps team this year - but is still seen as a vital cog in the Christie Park machine.
The Citizen understands several initial approaches have been made about Walmsley's availability, although that has not been confirmed by Mcilroy.
Meanwhile, youngsters Lee Dodgson, Jamie Davies and Jonathon Smith have left the club on loan. Dodgson and Davies have moved to Unibond club Leek Town, while Smith has linked up with high-flying Fleetwood Town.
McIlroy says: "The three young boys who have gone out on loan, will have a job to do at the clubs they are joining, it will be a sharp learning curve for them. The Unibond is totally different from the Conference and Lancashire League.
"They will come back to us much wiser and more experienced for the period with other clubs, although they will continue to train full time with us."
