THE Darwen Morris Dancers need local help to celebrate their 50th anniversary in style.
The group's milestone is later this year but organisers hope to collect as many photographs and memorabilia relating to the dancers as possible.
They also hope to get information on the original members of the first 1956 senior troupe. An old document names 15 of the 18 members but three names are missing from the line-up.
Members included: Dorothy Kershaw, Marilyn Hall, Kathleen Turner, Beryl Walkden, Patricia Lee, Dorothy Roberts, Jean Pattison, Beatrice Leonard, Marjorie Gore, Joan Corran, Rosalyn Jackson, Jean Haworth, Megan Bury, Patricia Brady and Margaret Tiplady.
Terry Ashby, a former coach who has family members in the Darwen Morris Dancers, wants people to help him piece together its history.
He said: "We'd like to know how many of the original troupe are still around and we hope people will have old photographs of the troupe throughout the years which we can use as part of our celebrations."
The current group meets at Lower Chapel, Chapels. The eldest member is 47 and the youngest just three.
Anyone with photos or who wants to get involved in the celebrations should contact Mr Ashby on 01254 774392.
