Blackpool will be hoping to carry their excellent form from Tuesday night's win 4-2 over Doncaster into another relegation scrap at Hartlepool on Saturday.

The Seasiders travel to the north east on Saturday to face a side just one point ahead of them and the chance to put some distance between themselves and the relegation trap door.

More performances like the one on Tuesday are high on manager Simon Grayson's wish list.

The Seasiders made a solid start and took the lead on 15 minutes when an exocet of a long throw by Marc Joseph was headed home at the near post by Tony Butler.

Blackpool looked the more likely team to score, with some excellent passing and crossing by the left-footed trio of Neil Wood, Rory Prendergast and Ian Morris, the latter as effective on the right wing as he has been in his usual role on the left.

But, 10 minutes after the opener, Doncaster were given a fortunate penalty after Peter Clarke was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area.

Michael McIndoe made no mistake from the spot, but Blackpool continued to enjoy the lion's share of possession and got their reward four minutes before half time when Morris headed home an excellent Prendergast free kick.

Barely a minute later Doncaster failed to deal with a John Murphy flick on and Keigan Parker added a third from close range.

The pattern of domination continued after the break and the fourth goal wasn't long in coming. Parker got in behind the Doncaster defence and pulled the ball across hapless keeper Alan Blayney for Peter Clarke to tap in on the line.

l A great start followed by 85 minutes of attempting to keep Bristol City dangerman Steve Brooker on a tight leash was enough to earn a point for battling Blackpool in Saturday's relegation scrap.

John Murphy gave Blackpool the perfect start, latching on to a moment of hesitation in the centre of the Bristol defence.

Brooker equalised after Wood missed a chance to make it 2-0 and from then on it was a rearguard action to the final whistle.
