A DARWEN cat sanctuary has praised Lancashire Evening Telegraph readers for donating vital supplies of food.
After Christmas Maureen Savage, who runs Moggies Cat Rescue from her home in Stansfield Street, had three times more cats than normal to look after.
So many of the vulnerable felines were taken in by Moggies that Maureen was forced to move her kitchen furniture into her bedroom to make space for extra pens.
But after appealing through the Lancashire Evening Telegraph she was inundated with donations of food, and even cash to help pay for her massive vet's bill, which often reaches £1.000 per month.
She said: "Everybody has been so kind, t's just lovely."
