Talks could shortly be held between parents and Blackpool's education boss in a bid to end a long-running row at a Blackpool school.
Blackpool Lib Dem councillor Jon Bamborough says he will try to broker a meeting between the town's education department and members of Marton School Action Group, who sent a nine page letter to the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) about the school.
Some parents have also taken their children out of school.
But the school off Highfield Road -- which gained a positive Ofsted report this month -- said the action group represents a minority of parents and that complaints had been made anonymously, or 'in confidence', making them difficult to investigate.
Cllr Bamborough said he was hopeful of moving the situation forward.
"Everybody wants the same thing, what's best for the pupils," he said.
Cllr Bamborough has raised the matter with Cllr Ivan Taylor, Blackpool's cabinet member for children and young people, at a full council last week.
Cllr Bamborough said: "All I am asking for at this stage is some dialogue between the education department and the aggrieved parents."
Ward Cllr Peter Evans, whose Stanley ward includes Marton Primary, said he'd had no complaints from parents, other than Alan Veale, chairman of Marton School Action Group.
Mr Veale said: "We have no reason to cause trouble. It's just become a brick wall situation for everyone."
He added it would be "wonderful" if a meeting could take place.
